family fun

We spent the last eight or so days in Connecticut with family and we were able to finally meet Jeremiah. Our trip was fun and refreshing and we were able to see most of our Connecticut family members during that amount of time. Of course, as is always the case, we did not get a chance to see everybody we had hoped to see and if you are reading this entry and fall into that category, I am so sorry! This trip was Dylan's second flight and he again did so well. Just as we were told during our last flight with him, fellow passengers said what a good baby he was on each flight. Some didn't even realize there was a baby on the plane with them. Thanks, God!

The first portion of our trip was spent with Jon's parents in Darien. We had a fun time watching Dylan dance to a Sesame Street record. He loved it! Dylan's grandma and grandpa (Jon's parents) bought him several toys that he also had fun with including an Elmo that goes on the potty. That was really funny and it was a big hit with Dylan. Hopefully Dylan will be encouraged to do as Elmo does when he is developmentally ready. Wouldn't that be great? (by the way, we don't have photos from this part of the trip but we have some funny video of Dylan's dancing)

The second portion of our trip was spent with my family. It began with a big family Labor Day breakfast on Monday where there were the three little babies of the family. It was fun to see Dylan's reaction to 4 month old Emma Grace and 3 week old Jeremiah. He pretty much growled at Jeremiah and stared at Emma Grace.
It will be fun for all three to have each other as they grow. Their age difference at the moment is so pronounced but in just a few years, they will all be pretty much the same size and age. It will be a lot of fun for them to play together at the family gatherings.

The remainder of the week was spent between Sarah and Rick's, my parents' house, and one evening at GG's. I had so much fun cuddling with Jeremiah--how quickly I forgot how tiny Dylan once was! And that new baby smell is just so precious! He's a cutie pie and very alert. When Dylan was his age, we were so excited when he'd open his eyes, but Jeremiah opens his eyes quite a lot and takes everything in. It was neat to see how well Sarah and Rick have adjusted to parenthood. They're doing such a great job and I'm just so happy for them.
