enjoyed a quiet Christmas morning at home. Dylan had a lot of fun opening his gifts, most of which added to his growing Thomas train collection. We packed our car and hit the road for Jon's parents house. We hit more traffic than expected and had trouble finding a place to eat lunch. McDonald's was not even open. At long last, we discovered that Denny's never closes so Denny's it was. After our fine dining experience we once again drove up I-95. Finally, we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's (as known by Dylan) house. We resolved to never again make our "Christmas trip to CT" on Christmas day. In the future as we begin traditions of our own, we plan to stay in on Christmas day and then travel when it's a bit more convenient. Children definitely change things.The following day, Dylan and Tucker opened their gifts from Grandma and Grandpa. Dylan was really getting into ripping paper as he realized this was a time when we actually wanted him to rip. That must be pretty confusing for these little guys. We're not happy
with them when they rip anything else, but these pretty packages are fair game. Anyway, Dylan opened some more Thomas train stuff and he was absolutely thrilled. We spent time with Jon's brother and sister-in-law as well and it was great that Dylan and Tucker had some chances to hang out with them during our visit. We also had a special opportunity while there to have Tucker dedicated by Jon's dad, Dylan's and Tucker's Grandpa. Jon's parents, my parents, Jon's brother and sister-in-law, and some special friends were able to come to the service that morning. My sister and brother-in-law also stopped by the church at the very end of the service. This was a huge surprise as they were returning back to their home that very day from celebrating Christmas in Tennessee.
